Description
Dark brown and olive with minor surface granularity in a few places on the obverse. VF sharp, free of notable marks. A cool mint error, reverse struck through capped die, rarely seen in this late stage capped die effect. This happens when a coin sticks to the hammer die, begins striking brockages, and continues to stick to the die long enough for it then to stretch out and expand up around the die neck, causing a larger more distorted mirror image on the struck coin.
