1797 S-135 R-3 NGC MS 64 BN Rev of 97 Draped Bust Large Cent Coin 1c

Description

NGC authenticated and graded MS 64 BN. Attractive light brown mellowed down from faded mint red, some of the latter remaining underneath especially around the reverse peripheries. There is some grainy crud built up lightly in some protected areas and a few trivial marks, nothing distracting. Smooth surfaces with subtle luster, actually a reverse of 1797 despite the incorrect attribution on the NGC label. Likely a coin from the Nichols hoard of 1796 and 1797 cents.
