Item#1136 – 1854 N-23 R2 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved
Finest Early State N-23
Frosty mint red fading to light steel brown with at least half of the mint red remaining visible. A beautiful cent that has only minor marks including two tiny spots of reddish brown toning in the field close before the mouth, a couple more at star 3, and some microscopic ticks on the cheek and upper part of the neck. A bit softly struck on the coronet over LIB. Scarce EDS, die state a, with a sharp die line up from star 11 and myriad very fine die lines over UNITE. Our grade is MS62. Tied for CC#7 of the variety but finest of the early die state in the Grellman census. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 65+RB.
