Item#1133 – 1854 N-22 R3+ PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown, CAC Approved
Scarce EDS N-22
Lustrous light olive and steel brown with about 20% of the mint red remaining, mostly on the obverse. A very attractive satiny cent with just a few trivial marks. The notable marks are three tiny rim nicks left of star 1. Scarce EDS, die state a, with a fine but clear horizontal die line right of the top of the 4. The fields are smooth and are just starting to show extremely fine radial flowlines from the dentil tips. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#5 for the variety but tied for second finest honors of the early die state in the Grellman census. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1, none finer in RB.
