Description
PCGS authenticated and graded MS 63 BN. Frosty light olive with sea-green overtones. Satiny luster covers this cent and the eye appeal is excellent. No spots and the only mark is a thin scratch near the dentils over the right side of star 11. Rare EDS, die state a (the earliest seen), with sharp but fine repunching on the 1 & 4 and fine die polishing lines covering the fields on the obverse. In addition there is a curious spike hanging down from the right top of the 5. Tied for CC#10 for the variety but the finest of the early die state in the Grellman census. PCGS population 1, 2 finer in BN (65 and 66).
