PCGS authenticated and graded AU Details. Frosty light to medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter brown toning on the very highest points of the devices. A glass reveals uniform extremely fine granularity mixed into the die flowlines. No spots or stains, and the only notable marks are a very light diagonal nick on the bust over the 4, a couple more on the cheek and neck, and a tiny pinprick over the end of the pole, hardly visible as they blend in well. LDS, Breen State VIII, with heavily flow lined fields on the obverse, a die crack up through the 4 and neck to the ear lobe, and shallow “Mounds” on the reverse. This cent is sharply struck and there is very little friction on the highest points of the portrait, and the reverse looks mint state.
