Description

Dark olive and steel browns with hints of tan in the upper obverse protected areas. The bubbled appearance and microporosity on the planchet is likely due to the bath metal composition needing to be heated at the time of striking to prevent the dies from cracking, causing gas bubbles to form in the metal. There is also a flaw on the edge over R in REX that extends to the other side over the date. Sharp details, bold date legends and date. 256.13 grains, 31.88mm.
