Description
PCGS authenticated and graded AU 55. Beautiful silver farthing with attractive medium gray surfaces highlighted by gold and subtle iridescent toning. Free of notable marks, though there are a couple natural planchet pits below the king and on his arm. Sharply struck on a heavy planchet, ever so slightly off center that barely affects some dentils. These silver pieces were likely struck as presentation pieces, though almost all known examples are worn and Choice AU examples such as this are about as nice as you can expect to find. This is the most available of the Silver St Patrick Farthings, though that is of only a few dozen known examples.
