Frosty medium steel brown blending to chocolate on the highpoints and on the lower half of the reverse. Excellent luster and eye appeal with just a few trivial contact marks, including a couple light nicks on the chin. The best identifying marks are two spots of reddish chocolate toning in the field touching the curl left of star 13. MDS with a series of fine die cracks involving all the stars except for #10 and another through the base of RICA  to the stern and ribbon Called MS60 and CC#1 as the only mint state example in the Bland census. Noyes says AU55 and tied for CC#1, his photo #20662. Our grade is MS60. PCGS Population1; none finer.  Ex. John P. Lyman, S.H. Frosty bluish steel and light olive brown. The surfaces are satiny and lustrous offering excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a few microscopic ticks here and there including a pair of light diagonal nicks low on the neck plus a speck of waxy crud hidden inside the bottom of the E in AMERICA. Nicely struck with only a couple of the stars not fully impressed. Called MS60+ and CC#1 in the Bland census of confirmed examples. Noyes says MS60 and CC#3, his photo #21062. Lustrous bluish steel and light chocolate a brown with 15-20% of the slightly faded mint color remaining on the obverse, but only traces of faded mint color are showing through on the reverse. A small, dull nick on the jawline near the earlobe, an extremely thin diagonal nick right of star 2, and a short horizontal hairline under star 12 are the only marks on an otherwise flawless cent. Excellent eye appeal. Latest die state with rim cud breaks from star 4 to star 7. Called MS65 choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21163. Our grade is MS63. Frosty medium steel brown with attractive darker bluish steel overtones on the reverse. The only marks are a few small spots of slightly lighter tan toning around stars 4-7. E-MDS with a fine die crack from the bust tip to star1. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#3 in the bland census. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#5, his photo #35919. Our grade is MS62. Lustrous steel brown and chocolate with 10% of the original mint color remaining on the obverse, 20% on the reverse. There are traces of darker toning mixed into the field before the neck and a number of microscopic ticks in the field off the chin, but the surfaces are satiny and offer excellent eye appeal. Sharply struck EDS with full radial lines in all the stars. Called MS65 choice and CC#1 by 4 points over the second finest piece in the Noyes census, his photo #20971. bland says MS63 and CC#1 with the next best confirmed example grading only AU55.
