1796    S-115  R3        PCGS F15                               $  2500

Chocolate brown with smooth problem free surfaces. Interesting intermediate die state with heavy die crack through TY and date. This is a very nice example of this variety.

1797    S-130  R2        PCGS XF45                            $ 3,500

Lustrous chocolate. Very sharply struck, only a couple minor hairlines from flawless. A beautiful 1797 cent.

1797    S-131  R2        PCGS XF40                            $ 4,500

Chocolate steel with olive overtones. Hard glossy surfaces. Sharply struck E-MDS. Very difficult variety to find in nice grades.

1798    S-155  R3        PCGS VF20      REVERSE OF 1796                      $  1,250

Dark chocolate fields with steel devices. Very finely granular, but a remarkably sharp strike for this variety, especially on the reverse which is fully impressed.

1798    S-154  R4+     PCGS AU50                            $ 4,000

Sharply struck with attractive light brown color. The surfaces are lightly abraded. The naked eye appeal is outstanding. A first hairstyle 1798 is significantly scarce in this grade.

1798    S-184  R1        PCGS VF35                            $   950

Brown with sea green overtones. There are a few tiny pin pricks in the obverse field above the bust tip. The rims are clean. The surfaces are hard and the strike is sharp.
