Lustrous steel brown with delicate overtones of sea-green on the reverse and 10-15% of the mint red remaining, mostly on the obverse. There is a small carbon spot on the lower right point of star 3, another in the leaves under U in UNITED, and a small splash of dark olive toning on the rim right of star 8. MDS, die state d, with several die cracks on the reverse, but the crack at ST to the dentils over the adjacent A has not formed. CC#5 in the Grellman census. DWH #2102.
