Smooth and rather glossy light silvery gray with darker gray and steel toning covering the protected areas. The strike is uneven, as often seen on this rare variety, as the obverse die failed early in the marriage. Most of the details are better than F15 but obvious strike weakness shows in opposing places on the left sides. No marks, planchet flaws, or other defects. LDS with strong die clashmarks along the lower part of the obverse and subtle swelling above the date to the beads below LA.
